Local beauty spots include the ancient clapper bridge at Tarr Steps, the medieval bridge at Landacre and the stunning iron age fort, Cowe Castle You can expect to see herds of magnificent red deer, and also Exmoor ponies which frequently graze on Withypool Common. RidingThe combination of open moorland and steep wooded valleys make for perfect riding country. The owners of The Royal Oak Cottage Susannah and Steve Downey live at Waterhouse Farm on the edge of Withypool. Philip and Heather who run the livery yard can provide fit, quality horses for experienced riders. Hacking can be accompanied or unaccompanied. They can also supply hunter hirelings for guests who want to take advantage of some of the finest hunting grounds in the world.
