A charm all of its own

The atmospheric 500 year old cottage is crammed with original features with its ancient inglenook fireplace, wood burning stove, and more ceiling beams than you can shake a stick at.

The décor has a stylish country feel, and you will find every modern day comfort and convenience. Including a DVD player and satellite TV.

The large rambling lounge leads to a separate dining room, which leads on to another bright spacious lounge with sliding doors opening out onto a paved terrace.

Upstairs there are 3 double bedrooms, and 1 single (which has a second fold out bed if required). Downstairs there is bunk bedroom which kids seem to make a bee-line for.

There is one fully tiled bathroom with bath and a walk-in shower. And a second bathroom with bath and hand shower.

Outside as well as the terrace area there’s a large fenced country garden with a picnic table and lovely moorland views.

There is a also a secure dog kennel with a small outdoor run. And a separate laundry/drying / boot room which is also situated outside.

Excellent pub food on the doorstep

A few steps across the courtyard takes you to the Royal Oak Inn which is under new local ownership, and in the process of being restored to regain its reputation as Exmoor’s finest inn.

This is where you will find one of the few unspoilt traditional bars, serving fine ales and excellent bar meals. Or you can enjoy the restaurant’s delicious a la carte menu and fine wines.

If you feel like staying in to eat, you can use the cottage phone link to order breakfast, lunch or supper to be delivered to you. Not quite full room service. But not far off.
